P8 - Experimenting camera movements and shots

Today we decided to practice using the cameras and experimented with them in order for us to gain a better understanding of camera use for our film.
We used a tripod along with the camera too which was very effective as it had helped enhance our picture quality and came very useful especially for making a smooth transition in the panning and trracking shots, which made it look more professional.

We used the cameras to see what kinds of shots we can use and apply in our horror film, and we mainly focused on wide shots and establishing shots, as well as panning and tracking. We also tried experimenting different and unusual camera use that are more conventional for horror films for example, a tracking shot which started off zoomed in where the camera moves forward and we started at the same time to zoom out. This created an unsusual camera work which I believe we can use in our psychological horror to enhance the horror effect in our film.

The setting where we took picture was at the cemetery. We decided to use this location for our horror film because we wanted a location that is conventional to horror films so we decided to choose the cemetery to set the scary atmosphere.
